TV: 22nd Annual Television Award Nominations

The nominations for the 22nd Annual OFTA Television Awards have been announced.

Best Drama Series nominee The Handmaid’s Tale earned nineteen nominations this year, the most nominated program of the season. Ryan Murphy’s limited series The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story came in second with 18 nominations.

Two HBO programs competing in Drama Series with Handmaid’s Tale tied for third in the nominations count: Game of Thrones and Westerworld Fellow Drama Series nominees were The Americans (10), The Crown (14), Killing Eve (5), and This Is Us (8).

Competing with Gianni Versace for limited series are American Vandal (4), Godless (5), Patrick Melrose (6), The Terror (5), Top of the Lake: China Girl (2), and Twin Peaks (12).

In Best Comedy Series, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel came out on top with 13 nominations. It was nominated alongside Atlanta (11), black-ish (6), GLOW (10), The Good Place (9), Silicon Valley (2), and Will & Grace (11).

For Motion Pictures Made for Television, USS Callister (Black Mirror) was tops with 11 citations. It will compete with The Commuter (Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams) (1), Fahrenheit 45 (3), Flint (1), Paterno (1), Psych: The Movie (1), and The Tale (6).

The winners will be announced on Sunday, September 30, 2018.
