TV: 24th Annual Television Award Nominations

The nominations for the 24th Annual OFTA Television Awards have been announced.

Best Limited Series nominee Watchmen earned nineteennominations this year, the most nominated program of the season. Tying for second place among the nominees were Best Limited Series nominee Mrs. America and Best Comedy Series nominee The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Drama series The Crown was fourth with 17 nominations with variety series Saturday Night Live and drama series Succession both coming in fifth with 15 nominations.

Competing against The Crown and Succession for Best Drama series are Better Call Saul (9), Euphoria (12), Killing Eve (12), The Mandalorian (13), Ozark (9), and Stranger Things (8).

Joining Watchmen and Mrs. America in the limited series category are Defending Jacob (4), Hollywood (14), Normal People (5), Unbelievable (8), Unorthodox (6), and Years and Years (3).

In Best Comedy Series, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel was nominated alongside Better Things (1), Brooklyn Nine-Nine (6), Curb Your Enthusiasm (5), GLOW (5), The Good Place (13), Schitt’s Creek (9), and What We Do in the Shadows (5).

Among Best Motion Pictures Made for Television nominees, El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie was tops with 8 citations. It will compete with American Son (1), Bad Education (6), Blow the Man Down (1), A Christmas Carol (1), Dolly Parton’s Hearstrings: These Old Bones (1), Togo (1), and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. The Reverend (1).

The winners will be announced on Sunday, September 27, 2020.
