The winners for the 29th Annual OFTA Television Awards have been announced.
The Penguin, which received a total of 15 awards, was the most honored program of the year. It won Best Limited or Anthology series along with prizes for stars Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti in the lead categories and Deirdre O’Connell in Supporting Actress. It also received awards for Best Casting & Ensemble, Directing, Music Composition, Picture Editing, Cinematography, Production Design – Contemporary, Costume Design – Contemporary, Makeup – Prosthetic, Makeup – Contemporary, Sound Mixing, and Sound Editing.
Other winners in the Limited or Anthology series categories were Owen Cooper for Best Supporting Actor in Adolescence and Writing for Adolescence. Rebel Ridge won Best Motion Picture.
In the drama series categories, Severance won the Drama Series category along with along with the prize for Best Main Title Design. It’s the first series to win the top category while taking only one other award. Other drama winners include The Pitt, which won awards for Best Actor (Noah Wyle), Supporting Actress (Katherine LaNasa), Casting & Ensemble, Writing, and Picture Editing. Kathy Bates won the award for Best Drama Actress for Matlock. Walton Goggins won for Best Supporting Actor for The White Lotus, which also took the prize for Main Title Theme Music. The Guest Actor award went to Forest Whitaker for Andor. That series also carried the categories of Directing, Voice-Over Performance (Alan Tudyk), Music Composition, Cinematography, Production Design, Costume Design, Sound Mixing, Sound Editing, and Special Visual Effects. Rounding out the drama categories was Kaitlyn Dever for Best Guest Actress for The Last of Us.
On the comedy side, The Studio won awards for Comedy Series, Actor (Seth Rogen), Supporting Actress (Catherine O’Hara), Guest Actor (Bryan Cranston), Casting & Ensemble, Directing, Writing, and Picture Editing. Hacks won the Best Actress award for Jean Smart. Harrison Ford was awarded for Best Supporting Actor for Shrinking and Jamie Lee Curtis won Best Guest Actress again for The Bear.
