The nominations for the 27th Annual OFTA Television Awards have been announced.
Leading the nomination count for the 2022-2023 television season, Best Drama Series nominee The Last of Us earned a total of twenty-six nominations. Coming in second was fellow Best Drama Series nominee Succession with twenty-two. In third place was Best Drama Series nominee The White Lotus with 17 nominations.
Tied for fourth were Drama Series nominees Andor and House of the Dragon with fifteen each. They were followed closely by 14-time nominees Abbott Elementary (nominated for Best Comedy Series), Better Call Saul (Best Drama Series nominee), and Wednesday (Best Comedy Series nominee).
Competing against Andor, Better Call Saul, House of the Dragon, The Last of Us, Succession, and The White Lotus for Best Drama series are The Crown (11), and Yellowjackets (5).
In Best Comedy Series, Abbott Elementary and Wednesday were nominated alongside Barry (7), The Bear (12), Ghosts (4), Only Murders in the Building (9), Ted Lasso (9), and What We Do in the Shadows (7).
Nominated in the limited or anthology series category this year are are Beef (12), Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (10), Daisy Jones & the Six (8), Fleishmann Is in Trouble (3), George & Tammy (5), Ms. Marvel (4), Obi-Wan Kenobi (7), and White House Plumbers (6).
The Best Motion Picture nominees are Boston Strangler (4), A Christmas Story Christmas (1), Hocus Pocus 2 (1), Prey (8), and Weird: The Al Yankovic Story (11).
The winners will be announced on Sunday, October 15, 2023.
